Capital Punishment

For quite some time, there has been much debate about whether capital punishment is ethical or not.  Some people claim that it is immoral to take the life of another people, where other people believe that if the crime is bad enough they deserve to die.
Even though most people think that the death penalty is cheaper than life in prison, it is just the opposite.  The main reason for this is the appeals system.  In fact, when you add up all the court costs and cost of living for the person on death row it ends up being almost ten times as expensive as keeping them in prision.  I dont really care if capital punishment is better if it is ten times as expensive.  We can not afford to spend more money than we have to with the economy that we have today.  That extra money can go toward jobs and other things that are more meaningful.

  1. I think if they did away with appeals on many cases and stuck with the final sentence that would definitely fix the cost issues. Morally i think do to others as they have done? you know what i mean and eye for an eye! Why think of Morals for people who have none! But putting them to death is probably what they hope for so i say let them sit there till they die naturally and slowly.
